Home Area: West Coast Travels to: Anywhere in the US Biography: Katrina Wreede, former violist/composer with Turtle Island String Quartet, former San Jose Symphony violist, author of "Violaerobics, a Technical Workout for Violists", internationally performed, award-winning composer of symphonic, chamber and dance music, contributing author to upcoming ASTA book, "Playing and Teaching the Viola", frequent contributing author to American Viola Journal, former applied faculty at Santa Clara University, Artist in Residence at the Boston Conservatory, the Clairbourn School, Berkeley Symphony "Junior Composer Program", Longfellow Arts and Technology School, visiting artist at Berklee College, Polytechnic School, since 1998 has been "Composer in the Schools" for the American Composers Forum, violist/composer with San Francisco Symphony's 1999-2000 "Adventures in Music" quartet, co-founder of Berkeley Young Composers Ensemble, Living Wind Chime Project and co-director of Team Opera Project, an organizational development workshop for both musicians and non-musicians to experience group improvisation, musical communication and ensemble skills. |
