Biography:

2005 has been fast paced for Violist/Composer Rozanna Weinberger, who recorded the solo Viola part for the King Tut Exhibition, touring the United States. She performed original music on the runway during Fashion Week 2005 NYC for couture designer, Lemington Ridley and guest panelist for Career Day, Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University. This comes on the heels of her successful show with singer Kim Garfunkel at Jazz Au Bar, NY. And in April Rozanna was voted ‘Featured Artist of the Month’ on a popular music website Reward Talent, virtually unheard of for a violist. Whether performing and producing the music videos Chromatic Fantasy and Sweet Thunder, premiering a Concerto by Tania Leon, or improvising with Nigel Kennedy, this unique violist of the 21st century, wins high acclaim:

The San Francisco Examiner “...magisterial...”
American Record Guide “...breathtaking virtuosity...”
Village Voice “heart-touching sincerity...unabashedly romantic… soulful...”

2004, Rozanna Weinberger’s music was featured for a world peace exhibition at the United Nations and Capital Hill, in the movie, Dancing With Kendra and the Knitting Factory for Mariane Pearl. Her most recent incarnation, Sweet Thunder, merges classical and popular culture seamlessly, redefining the role of the virtuoso. Her music videos, which she performed and produced, have been seen throughout North and South America on the Classic Arts Showcase, the TRIO Network, also the Park City Film Music Festival, the Rhode Island and Columbus International Film Festivals, where Chromatic Fantasy was a prize-winner.

Ms.Weinberger has performed extensively worldwide as soloist and chamber musician in Sweden, Israel, Canada, South Africa, Baltimore, Cleveland, Toronto, San Francisco, Chicago, and Weill Recital Hall. In addition, her performance at the International Viola Congress was described as “ground breaking.” Rozanna Weinberger performed for Prince Hironomia of Japan and was selected to represent the US as an Artistic Ambassador by the USIA. The artist has recorded for North Pacific, Mode and Albany Records and received her Bachelors degree from Peabody Conservatory of John Hopkins U. and Masters from The Juilliard School.
